Abbey Clancy cuddles up to EastEnders’ Shaun Williamson as she imagines her life without her husband Peter Crouch in hilarious new advert
Abbey Clancy cuddled up to EastEnders star Shaun Williamson as she recreated her life with a new man in an amusing new advert.
The model, 37, imagines what her life would be like if she had rejected her husband Peter Crouch when they met nearly 20 years ago in an advert for Paddy Power Games.
The tongue-in-cheek video takes a look at the sliding doors moments that can define a person’s life or history, with Abbey taking centre stage in the hilarious skit.
As she daydreams about what life might have been, Abbey is seen pursuing a romance with Shaun, best known as Barry Evans in EastEnders, rather than Peter.
The clip kicks off with Abbey sitting beside her former footballer husband Peter, 42, when a voiceover says: ‘Imagine life with another chance, come on, let’s actually imagine it!’

Fictional scenes then flash up on screen as various points in history and inventions are reimagined, before a very different version of Abbey’s life is shown.
Recreating the moment Abbey met Peter, she is seen looking glamorous in a nightclub when – in a fictional twist – Shaun approaches her and says: ‘My mate fancies you.’
However, Abbey takes one look at Peter – who is hilariously sporting a blonde wig and giving her a cheeky grin – and declines his advance in a rewrite of history.
‘He’s a bit long isn’t he? No thanks,’ she says, with her friends descending into fits of laughter.
The clip then flashes to a new version of Abbey’s present day life, which sees her happily cosying up to Shaun on their sofa as they are instead shown coupling up.
With Peter nowhere to be seen, Shaun is seen giving the camera a knowing look as Abbey lies on the sofa under his arm and cuddles up to him in an amusing ending to the advert.
Speaking about the Life with More Chances advert, Peter confessed it was ‘strange’ to see his wife cosying up to EastEnders legend Shaun.
He admitted: ‘Seeing Abbey snuggled up with Barry [Shaun] was one of the strangest experiences of my life. I was standing there thinking to myself, you know, what if this actually did happen?!’

Fun times: Shaun said of making the advert: ‘I loved working with Peter and Abbey. They’re such down to earth, lovely people. If I got another chance to do that again, I’d be happy’
Abbey also clarified that if given the chance to go back in time, she would still marry Peter again, but joked that she might improve his cooking skills.
‘I would marry Peter again and again. We renewed our vows last Christmas in the Maldives with our family and closest friends. But, if I could go back to 20 years ago, I’d make sure to teach him how to cook and clean a bit better,’ she quipped.

Speaking about the recreation of his and Abbey’s meeting in a nightclub, Peter admitted it was very similar to when they actually first met in the Vampire room of Mosquito nightclub in Liverpool.
He said: ‘The worst thing about this ad is it’s so close to reality. I had that mad blond hair, massively baggy jeans, the terrible shirt, and the awful shoes.
‘I didn’t make the initial approach though. It was Abbey that came over to me first, we started chatting and it went from there. I’d like that to go on the record.’
In reality, Peter met Abbey at a bar in Liverpool back in 2005 when he was playing as a striker for the city’s team and they went on to tie the knot six years later.
They got married at the Stapleford Park hotel in Leicestershire in June 2011, two years after announcing their engagement.
The couple had already welcomed their daughter Sophia Ruby, now 11, in March 2011 and since their wedding, have had three more children – Liberty, seven, Johnny, four, and Jack, three.

Trend: Vow renewals are quickly becoming the latest wedding-related trend after a whole host of stars have hosted very lavish celebrations, including Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch
After growing their family and spending 11 years married to one another, Abbey and Peter decided to renew their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony on December 17.
The couple had planned to host the ceremony to mark their 10th wedding anniversary in 2021, but were forced to delay their destination plans until a year later due to Covid.
And they finally tied the knot for a second time in front of their four children, Abbey’s mother Karen and friends on a private island at the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort in December.
The new ad for Paddy Power Games airs for the first time on Friday October 27 on ITV2 during Big Brother.
