Footage has resurfaced of Sir Bob Geldof declaring Russell Brand a \u201cc***\u201d at the 2006 NME awards.<\/p>\n

The clip of the awkward stand-off was included in a documentary on Channel 4, in which the 48-year-old comic was accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse.<\/p>\n

The Grays-born A-lister was shown in the film hosting the NME awards and shaking the hand of Sir Bob as the Irish rocker joins him on the stage.<\/p>\n

After taking over the lectern from a long-haired Brand, Sir Bob says into the microphone: \u201cRussell Brand, what a c***\u201d. The remark received whoops and laughs.<\/p>\n

The social media star is at the centre of a storm of rape, sexual assault and abuse put forward by The Times, Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches, all of which he denies.<\/p>\n

The documentary, aired on September 16, includes claims from multiple women, who accuse him of committing a slew of sex crimes in the mid-noughties at the height of his fame.<\/p>\n

Brand \u201cabsolutely refuted\u201d the allegations, made by four women, and took to YouTube and X\/Twitter to claim his innocence.<\/p>\n

The investigative documentary shares the claims of one woman who alleges Mr Brand raped her in her home in LA.<\/p>\n

Another claims that he sexually assaulted her when she was 16 and he was 31.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Brand is alleged by one victim to have \u201cgroomed\u201d her, and was said to have opportunistically exploited his position as a celebrity whilst presenting TV programmes to pursue sexual relationships with young female colleagues.<\/p>\n

Mr Brand took to social media to deny the allegations vehemently.<\/p>\n

He said, in an impassioned video: \u201cI\u2019ve received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter, and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like, my community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn\u2019t be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel, but amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I\u2019ve written about extensively in my books, I was very very promiscuous.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds: \u201cI was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I\u2019m being transparent about it now as well, and to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question, is there another agenda at play?”<\/p>\n
