David Jason pays tribute to Queen at Platinum Jubilee Celebration<\/h3>\n

David Jason reportedly \u201cdid all he can\u201d to comfort his Only Fools and Horses co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst following the devastating death of his 19-year-old son to leukaemia.<\/p>\n

Archie Lyndhurst sadly died in his sleep from a brain haemorrhage caused by Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia back in 2020, leaving a \u201ccatastrophic effect\u201d on his family.<\/p>\n

It is thought that the Del Boy actor was in regular contact with his on-screen brother following the tragedy.<\/p>\n

A source said at the time: \u201cDespite no longer being on screen together, David and Nick remain very close. So, as soon as David became aware of what had happened to Archie, he was in touch with Nick.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been in regular touch ever since and – like everyone else who cares for Nick and his family – is just trying to provide whatever support he can.<\/p>\n

\u201cNick’s heart is broken, and David is doing all he can to support him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir David and Nicholas played the legendary Trotter brothers for more than 20 years, a time David looks back on fondly.<\/p>\n

The 83-year-old said last year that \u201cit wasn\u2019t like going to work\u201d and he misses the BBC comedy \u201cterribly\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, David acknowledged that his friendship with Nicholas, 62, had changed over the years<\/p>\n

He explained to Radio Times: \u201cHe\u2019s much more – how can I say? – self-contained, perhaps, than he used to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, unfortunately, we don\u2019t see each other as much as I would like to. But that\u2019s how things work out sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Archie\u2019s death, Nicholas took some time away from the public eye.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared shortly after the CBBC star\u2019s death was announced, the Rodney Trotter actor shared that he and his wife Lucy were \u201cutterly grief-stricken”.<\/p>\n

Lucy also shared a heartbreaking post, describing Archie as \u201cthe most magical human being we have ever met\u201d.<\/p>\n

She also said that the post-mortem results showed that there \u201cwasn\u2019t anything anyone could have done as Archie showed no signs of illness\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lucy added that it was \u201cnot leukaemia as we know it\u201d and that \u201cacute in medical terms means rapid\u201d.<\/p>\n

Three years on, Nicholas has been filming the revival of Frasier opposite Kelsey Grammer in his first TV role since the loss of Archie.<\/p>\n
