Timothee Chalamet exclusive, channels Bob Dylan as he rocks satin
EXCLUSIVE: Timothee Chalamet channels Bob Dylan in satin shirt and leather slacks while carrying book about the singer as he prepares to play the icon in a biopic
Timothee Chalamet surfaced in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The actor was carrying an early copy of a still-to-be-released book about Bob Dylan.
Entitled Bob Dylan: Mixing Up The Medicine, the massive tome is a collection of archival material from the singer’s career, such as photos and draft lyrics.
Although the book will not be officially published until next Tuesday, Timothee has apparently already managed to get his hands on a copy.
The 27-year-old movie star is preparing to star in a biopic of the folk singer, focusing on his explosively controversial decision to go electric in 1965.
When he was seen out this week, Timothee’s resemblance to Bob was in full evidence, including his wiry physique and his mound of dark curly hair.

Playing up his slender legs in tight leather trousers, he exuded 1960s chic in a cream floral tunic with the top buttons undone to reveal a beaded necklace.
In a bombshell new interview with GQ, Timothee revealed that he has been readying himself for the biopic with help from the team who coached Austin Butler for Elvis.
‘I’ve basically been working with his entire Elvis team for my Dylan prep,’ Timothee dished.
‘There’s a wonderful dialect coach named Tim Monich. Vocal coach named Erich Vetro. Movement coach named Polly Bennett.’
In a tip of the hat to Austin’s performance as Elvis, he added: ‘I just saw the way he committed to it all – and realized I needed to step it up.’
Austin reached new heights of stardom last year with his Oscar-nominated turn in Baz Lurhmann’s biopic of Elvis Presley.
He then traveled to Europe to co-star with Timothee in Dune: Part Two – and, while doing so, left Timothee deeply impressed with his acting chops.
Dune: Part Two features Austin as a bloodthirsty warrior who happens also to be the nephew of a baron played by Stellan Skarsgard.
Timothee spilled to GQ that during the very first cast reading, which was conducted over Zoom, Austin was ‘already talking like Stellan Skarsgard.’

To hear Timothee tell it, ‘everyone’ was struck by the transformation, and ‘I can’t overstate how inspiring it was to me personally.’
The Call Me By Your Name star explained: ‘Because here was someone who’s a little older than me, but generationally we’re similar, and I don’t know how he would put it, but his journey was different than mine. But he takes the work incredibly seriously.’
Timothee gushed: ‘And I feel like I hadn’t seen that among someone my age, whether it was in drama school or on set, that did take the work that seriously but then after “cut” wasn’t, you know, in some show of how seriously they took it – and instead is this tremendously affable, wonderful man.’

Benedict Cumberbatch features as the Stalinist folk singer Pete Seeger, with Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash and Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez.
Elle Fanning will be delivering a turn as Timothee’s love interest, with PJ Byrne in a supporting role as the legendary music manager Harold Leventhal.
