The Kinks, Janis Joplin Among 2023 London's Music Walk Of Fame Inductees

The Kinks and Janis Joplin are among the 2023 inductees for London’s Music Walk of Fame.

In addition to the legendary London quartet led by Ray Davies as well as Joplin, nine more acts are set to join the Camden trail, including Eddy Grant, Buzzcocks, UB40, Gordon Mac, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, The Sugarhill Gang, Billy Bragg, Shalamar and music promoter Harvey Goldsmith.

The new Walk of Fame stones will be unveiled across a week from September 4 through 9, culminating in the first-ever free all day Camden Music Festival.

Janis’ siblings Laura and Michael Joplin said, “It is a really special moment to see our sister being recognized by the Music Walk Of Fame. Janis’s music resonated with a generation hungry for authenticity.”

“Her legacy is a reminder that vulnerability can be a source of strength, and her voice continues to inspire countless others to embrace their true selves,” they added. “At moments like this, it’s a pleasure to see her legacy being honored in this way.”
