Strictly pairing Amy Dowden, 31, and Tom Fletcher, 36, have been dealt with a blow after testing positive for coronavirus after their first live show. The pair are now self-isolating separately and are set to miss next week’s live show.

Professional dancer Amy took to her Instagram to provide her 249,000 with an update after the diagnosis.

She wrote: “Unfortunately Tom and I have tested positive for COVID-19. I’m not suffering any symptoms but am now isolating at home.

“I have no doubt that over the next 10 days my mind will be going crazy with choreography ideas ready to get back on the Strictly dance floor for the live show in week 3!

“Thank you for all of the support and good luck to all of the couples this week.

“I will be cheering you all on!” (Sic)

Tom also spoke out on his Instagram, apologising to his fans as his band McFly was forced to cancel one of their tour dates.

He said, “I’m so sorry,” and reposted a message from McFly’s official page stating that he was feeling unwell.

The musician had embarked on the band’s UK arena tour and was set to play a show in Glasgow on Sunday.

Following the positive test, Tom reposted a message from his band again, announcing the news to his two million followers.
