Rylan, 34, explained he would not be able to host his show over the weekend as Linda, 71, was not “in the best of health.”
He said: “So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she’s had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here.
“She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated.

Linda has become a firm favourite on Channel 4’s Gogglebox and has made cameos on his radio show, with Rylan affectionately referring to her as “mummy Linda”.
The broadcaster has previously opened up about his mother’s health struggles who has Crohn’s disease as he admitted he couldn’t imagine life without her.
Rylan confirmed that his mum’s ongoing Crohn’s battle meant she has nearly lost her life “three times”.
During his X Factor stint, she could only manage to attend one of her son’s live shows.
Speaking in 2019, Rylan confirmed: “I don’t think Crohn’s gets spoken about enough. I nearly lost my mum last year, again, for the third time.”
He went on: “With all due respect, the hospital just said to her, ‘If you didn’t come in one more week, that would have been it’.
“My mum has been ill my entire life.”
The pair previously took time off from Gogglebox due to Linda’s struggle with the condition for which there is no cure.
Speaking about his bond with his mum, he said: “I cannot imagine my life without her. I mean she has gone through quite a lot with her health, she has got Crohn’s disease.
“She is on a drip now feed now like pretty much 24/7 whenever she can get on it.”
