Ruth Langsford gushes over ‘special significance’ of Stacey Solomon’s baby name

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford revealed the sweet meaning behind her co-host Stacey Solomon's newborn daughter's name.

Stacey, 32, delighted fans as she shared the name of her newborn baby daughter as Rose Opal Esmè Solomon-Swash on Tuesday evening.

And speaking on Wednesday morning's edition of the ITV talk show, the 61 year old told her fellow panel members why Stacey and her fiancé Joe Swash chose the name.

Speaking of the newborn's sweet middle name, Ruth revealed: "Her middle name Opal has special significance actually because Opal is Stacey's birthstone, and Rose was actually born on Stacey's birthday, so that's now her birthday."

Ruth continued: "And then Stacey's engagement ring has got two Australian opals because that's where she and Joe met on I'm A Celebrity."

"It's all so thought through! So romantic," Carol McGiffin gushed.

Stacey gave birth on Monday 4 October, which was also her birthday, but revealed the name over a week later.

In an adorable post, she wrote: "Rose Opal, Esmè Solomon-Swash. Our beautiful flower – Our precious jewel – who is ever loved.

"It's been the most magical week. We love you to the moon and back our little Rose. We feel so so lucky to have you here…"

The mum-of-four continued: "Thank you all for your loveliness, your kindness and just being there at 3am for a chat it's been the best. Love you all."

Alongside the announcement, Stacey shared two pictures of her daughter next to a pink rose and the little tot was dressed in a matching onesie as she lay soundly sleeping on white sheets.

It comes after Stacey revealed she was looking at baby name books for inspiration, as well as being open to suggestions from fans.

She wrote on Instagram: "Good morning. Toes up from pickle this morning…. She's got mummy's toes I've never felt so proud.

"All of the boys are in school today. So Joe and me are going to spend the day getting the baby name books out and hopefully find out what her name is. Any ideas welcome…. I love hearing ideas for names, my mind is completely blank.

"Hope you have the best day. Lots of love from us."

However, fans are convinced she dropped hints about her baby daughter's name a week before the sweet announcement.

In a post shared to her Story Highlight, Stacey wrote, "Our Girl," alongside two rose emojis.
