Rufus’ tweet continued: “It’s a bit of a kick in the d**k, but just want to give full props to ITV who were super prepared for this sort of thing and have kept me and everyone in the production as safe as they possibly could.
“Will be back asap for more ridiculous icedancing,” he added in view of his one million followers.
Many took to the comments section of his post to share their disappointment.
“Well that sucks!!! I do hope you don’t get that virus and I know you’ll come back better than ever!! I mean, who else is gonna win this thing?” one social media user wrote.
“So sorry to hear about this Rufus. But we have to be safe first and foremost in this awful wretched pandemic age we are forced to live in now.
“I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers brother!!” another added.
A third remarked: “Oh no! That’s rotten for you. Hope you’re okay & will be allowed back after isolation too! Take care of yourself.
“Glad they’re not making you leave as Strictly did Katja and Nicola,” a fourth relieved fan added.

An ITV spokesperson explained to Express.co.uk: “This week Rufus Hound came into contact with someone outside of the show who tested positive for COVID-19.
“This means, following government guidelines, he will isolate for ten days.
“We are hoping to welcome him back to the ice soon.
“We continue to have a robust set of measures in place to operate safely within COVID-19 guidelines and to ensure the wellbeing of everyone connected with the production.”
Rufus made his Dancing On Ice debut on the very first show of 2021 last weekend.
He is partnered with professional ice skater Robin Jonstone.
The dancing duo performed an energetic routine and won the golden ticket, which automatically puts them through to the next week of the competition.
The actor will now have to isolate for 10 days.
