Piers Morgan, 55, revealed his new book, which will be released in October is called Wake Up and will tackle a number of issues that have occurred during lockdown. The TV presenter uploaded a lengthy thread describing different topics the book will be discussing in its anticipated pages, including “cancel culture” and “wokeness”.
Cushed at the altar of ‘woke’ political correctness
Piers began: “So, as you may have heard, I have a new book coming out.
“A Wake Up is my account of the most tumultuous few months in modern times as coronavirus turned the world upside down and exposed the very worst, and very best of human qualities.
“If, like me, you’re sick and tired of being told how to think, speak, eat and behave, then this book is for you.
“If, like me, you think common sense is being thrown out of the window, then this book is for you.
“If, like me, you think the world’s going absolutely nuts, then this book is for you.”
Piers added: “If, like me, you’re tired of being made to feel ashamed of our country, then this book is for you.”
The TV star explained how he believed NHS workers and Captain Tom Moore are the real heroes of the pandemic and not celebrities.
He continued: “If, like me, you think NHS heroes and Captain Tom are the real stars of our society, not self-obsessed tone-deaf celebrities (and royal renegades!), then this book is for you.
“If, like me, you’re sickened by the cancel culture bullies destroying people’s careers and lives, then this is the book for you.”
Piers also blasted “political correctness” that seems to be a priority over “free speech”.
He said: “From feminism to masculinity, racism to gender, body image to veganism, mental health to competitiveness at school, the right to free speech and expressing an honestly held opinion is being crushed at the altar of ‘woke’ political correctness.
“And in the process, we’re all losing our minds in an increasingly toxic, tribal, Twitter-fuelled maelstrom of partisan and intransigent shrieking.

“It’s time we went back to common sense. It’s time to cancel the cancel culture. It’s time to Wake Up,” he finished.
His fans applauded the book’s premise as they hoped it would also investigate “liberal media”.
One said: “A timely book Piers. Look forward to reading it. Hope you also look at the reasons of the downfall of liberal media and the rise of partisan media.”
Another replied: “Well said, totally agree. It’s a horrible place we live in.”
It comes as Loose Women host Carol McGiffin accused Piers of being a “hypocrite” for blocking her online, when he has a book being released on free speech, yet is “shutting people down”.
Piers who has often engaged in fiery Twitter spats did not hold back as he responded to the allegations.
The former Britain’s Got Talent judge retweeted Talk Radio’s video with the Loose Women star, typing: “Oh Carol, it’s got nothing to do with curbing your free speech.
“I don’t want to stop you talking your mindless COVID conspiracy theory crap – I just prefer not to endure hearing it. I blocked David Icke for the same reason,” he added.
