Pete Wicks reduced to tears after being forced to fight Jennifer Ellison in Celebrity SAS

TOWIE star Pete Wicks found himself tested and pushed further than ever before during the debut episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins as he was forced to take part in a melee fight against his teammate, former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison.

Living what was effectively his worst nightmare, the reality star, 33, explained his reservations about fighting a woman prior to the fight, with the prospect of raising his hand to a woman leaving him more than a little nauseous.

“It sounds really Macho and all that sort of stuff, but I just don’t know if I could fight a bird,” admitted Pete before he was whisked off to Jordan for the show.

“I mean, my mum, she is literally the most amazing person and the idea of anyone else ever laying hands on her, sort of just…I don’t like the idea of that at all.”

Co-star Jennifer also expressed her own fears about the potential of combat, as she explained:“I’m all for equal opportunities and everything but I would be a little bit scared fighting a fella, because like they’re stronger than you, bigger than you.”

Regardless of their reservations however, the two did as they were instructed and took to the desert ring to face each other in battle.

In a short but brutal fight, both gave it their all, with Pete emerging victorious after punching Jennifer in the back of the head and leaving her crouched and cowering on the ground.

The victory was far from sweet however, with both Jen and Pete reduced to tears in the aftermath of the adrenaline charged battle.

Holding no bad blood however, the pair quickly embraced and shared their apologies, but the situation left a very real mark on Pete as he explained once filming for the show had finished.

He said: “I absolutely love Jen and I got quite upset about it. I really didn’t want to do it.”

“We’d just done a run through the desert, and everyone was f****d, well, mostly me, and I spoke to Rudi about it.

“I said I really don’t want to do this and he was like, ‘look, you’re going to have to do this or we’re going to beast everyone. Just get her out quick.’ ”

“And then I thought, Jen’s going to go easy here, but no! She comes at me like a trooper! She went for it and it scared me, so I though f**k this!,” teased the star before continuing.

“No, it did really upset me. Like I said, I do love Jen and there’s lots of reasons why I don’t like that sort of thing, but Rudi said to me, some of things he’s had to do, things that he’s done in a real life situation – it’s never going to be something you enjoy doing. It’s part and parcel of what it is."

Reflecting on his experience of fighting his friend, Pete did however confess how much he regretted it afterwards.

“I do 100% regret that. I felt f***ing awful. It’s just not me. If it had been one of the boys it’s different.

"That sounds really bad, but I think Jen of all people, I really, really love Jen and it was not nice having to be put in that position.”
