BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty is said to have disliked Dan Walker’s bold look for TV today. The Football Focus presenter made the admission on social media, as he gauged wider opinion.
The lovely Mike Bushell was a fan… Naga Munchetty not so much
The 43-year-old strayed from his usual suit, plain shirt and tie to go live on air, in favour of something more eye-catching.
The father-of-three shared two snaps on both Twitter and Instagram, and was soon inundated with comments.
He claimed Naga, 46, had not been conviced by his attire, however their colleagiue Mike Bushell had been very much for it.
Dan was seen posing backstage in a bright, floral top, which he teamed with a denim, zip-up jacket.
Just to make sure everyone was in the loop, he also took a close-up picture of the shirt’s pattern.
He captioned his uploads: “The lovely @mikebreakfast was a fan… @TVNaga01 not so much.
“I just thought I’d bring a slice of colour to #BBCBreakfast this morning. What do you think?”
Dan added a laughing emoji after Naga’s name, as well as a bird and flower icon, further emphasising his decision.
Mike, 55, replied on the micro-blogging site: “That’s a thronker of a shirt if ever I saw one.”
“Wildlife on one @mrdanwalker,” he also quipped.
Dan also got compliments from users, with one telling him simply: “Nice threads!”
Two fans agreed: “Nice shirt,” and: “Full on but love it.”

But Dan quipped back, referencing their famous advertising slogan, although he made a major change.
“Should have gone to @VisionExpress,” he tweeted.
Another viewer wrote: “My money is on this being a Mrs W purchase, as we’ve recently come to realise she has a great eye for fabric #curtainenvy #chairenvy.”
Meanwhile, it comes just days Naga Munchetty admitted she prefers not to give her BBC colleagues any “insight” into her home life with husband James Haggar.
The presenter explained that otherwise “the lines get blurred a bit”.
The star opened up about her preference to keep her work and home lives separate, while chatting to Mike Bandar, the co-founder of waybook.com, a business that supports remote working.
During her BBC Radio 5 Live show, Naga explained that she wants to avoid lines getting “blurred” between the office and her “sanctuary” at home.
