When you, You are a reporter for a small weekly newspaper in a little town in the Midwest, near a large highway. You live in a trailer park with your alcoholic father and your mother is living in another trailer. One day you receive a phone call from a woman who says she is a reporter for a major newspaper. The first few days are spent getting to know the local residents and figuring out which ones may or may not have any information that could be useful. Then you get into the local highway, you pass a large highway sign, with the words Highway to Nowhere. The reporter explains that, in addition to the sign being there, the local residents have noticed a gradual slowing of traffic along that highway. A long time later, you arrive at a small town where you have to stop your vehicle. People are milling about in small groups, sitting at tables and sitting in chairs. Nobody pays any attention to you as you approach the local motel. You head to the motelYou head towards the motel, when your car horn suddenly blares. Everybody turns their heads as you drive out into the parking lot. You go into the buildingYou enter the building and find a manager sitting behind a desk. He recognizes you from last time you were here. He nods at you and tells you he will send a man to take you to the journalist. You follow the manager inside and find a young man in an office seat.
