The couple have been plagued by questions about the status of their marriage since Charlene suffered a mysterious medical crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On March 24 — two days before their 12th wedding anniversary — Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth released a joint statement announcing that they’re going their separate ways: “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together. Our biggest priority is our son [Tennessee] and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time,” they said.
A source told People magazine of the breakup news, “They really are the best of friends and this is such an amicable decision. They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.”
A second People source added that the mother of three, who has two adult children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, is “obviously disappointed and upset” because she “never saw herself getting another divorce.” The second source insisted that “there is no drama” between the Oscar winner and the former talent agent, explaining that they’re simply “two very different people” — “Reese is headstrong and focused. Although very hard-working, Jim is more laidback,” the insider said, adding that “it’s been very difficult for Reese to get to this point” and that “they both concluded this was right for them.”

On March 27 — after a woman went viral on TikTok for claiming her friend recently saw Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik holding hands and making out at a restaurant in New York City — Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, the singer-actress and the former One Direction member, who’ve known each other for years, are spending time together — and “he’s definitely into her,” though things between them aren’t “super serious” or exclusive and “she’s free to see other people” for now. “Zayn would love to continue to see Selena and see where things go. … He’s always admired her and thinks she’s an incredible person, inside and out,” the source said, adding that although Zayn has been “focused on himself” in the years since he split from his former off-and-on love, model Gigi Hadid, he now “feels like he’s ready to date again.” Said the insider, “He’s feeling optimistic about the possibility of things growing between him and Selena but isn’t putting any pressure on the situation. He’d rather just let things progress organically and believes she feels the same.”
Meanwhile, Page Six reported that, according to a source, Selena and Zayn previously “had a thing years ago” — circa 2012 when her best friend, Taylor Swift, dated his bandmate, Harry Styles. Around that time, Selena also copped to having a crush on Zayn.

On March 25, DailyMail.com published a video of Harry Styles making out with Emily Ratajkowski — his former celebrity crush — during a night out in Tokyo. The Sun later reported that, according to a source, the singer-actor and the model — who’s friends with his ex-girlfriend, Olivia Wilde — “have been getting to know each other for some time now.” Said the source, “[They] are enjoying getting to know each other. … They spent some time together out of the public eye this year and are just enjoying each other’s company when they can while Harry is on tour.”
Multiple media outlets reported that Olivia is displeased with the apparent love connection between her ex and her pal. “This is a betrayal,” said a Page Six source, adding that Emily is “begging [Olivia] for forgiveness.” Said a second Page Six source of the actress-filmmaker, “She is staying far away from this and taking the high road. … She is focused on her kids and her work. She wants nothing to do with this mess.”

During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that debuted online on March 23, Brie Larson revealed that she and Elijah Allan-Blitz had quietly called it quits: “I don’t have a next job. I don’t have a home. I don’t have a partner. I don’t have a plan. I’m just completely open,” she said. The “Captain Marvel” star and the actor-director were first romantically linked in July 2019. It’s unclear when exactly they threw in the towel.
On March 24, People magazine confirmed recent speculation that Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are engaged. “Kate is just on cloud nine. She is showing off her engagement ring to friends. She is being coy about details, but she is beaming. … Everyone is happy for her. Justin is a great guy. He adores her. It’s just amazing to see them together,” a source said. A second source told People that the “Blue Crush” alum “can’t wait” to marry the “Galaxy Quest” actor: “They are very cute together. Kate has this amazing energy around Justin,” the insider added. This woman right here deserves the world and I’m beyond thankful to have her in my life. I fall in love with you more and more each and every day. I love you best friend,” he captioned a slideshow of photos from the day they got engaged. The duo are gearing up to move in together in Austin, Texas, with plans to tie the knot in 2025.
On March 27, Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and his wife of more than a decade, Rochelle DeAnna McLean, released a joint statement announcing that they’re temporarily separating as they work on their marriage: “Marriage is hard, but worth it. We have mutually decided to separate temporarily to work on ourselves, and on our marriage with the hope of building a stronger future. The plan is to come back together and continue to nurture our love for one another and our family. We ask for respect and privacy at this time. Separation is hard enough without the commentary, please be kind and remember there are children involved,” they said.
Eva Marcille filed to divorce Michael Sterling in Georgia on March 23 following four a half a years of marriage. According to People magazine, she claimed in divorce documents that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and that she and the attorney are currently “living in a bona fide state of separation.” The mother of three told People in a statement confirming the breakup news, “This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting. Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished.” She’s reportedly asking for legal and primary physical custody of their kids. The “America’s Next Top Model” alum also indicated that she wants an “equitable division” of their marital assets and for her estranged husband to make child support payments to her.

He’s reportedly asking for joint physical and legal custody of their daughter. He also indicated that he does not want to pay spousal support to the “Real Housewives of Miami” alum.
On March 24 — about a year and a half after Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro confirmed they’re a couple — the duo dropped the PDA-packed music video for their collaboration “Beso,” which concluded with the two-time Grammy winner announcing they’re engaged by showing off her massive engagement ring.
Sean Penn’s ex-wife, Leila George, raised questions about the nature of her relationship with her “Animal Kingdom” co-star Ben Robson when they were photographed looking cozy together at a beach in Sydney on March 19. (See a photo here.) They were also snapped stepping out for lunch together the following morning, the English actor walking with an arm wrapped around the actress’s shoulders. It’s unclear when exactly the comely co-stars took their relationship to the next level.
On March 27 — after a fan went viral for claiming to have “all the proof” that Becky G’s fiancé, Sebastian Lletget, cheated on her in February — the soccer star took to Instagram to publicly apologize to the singer-actress. In a lengthy statement, he cryptically alluded to some bad behavior on his part but stopped short of fessing up to cheating on his long-term love: “I know in my heart that I couldn’t have achieved a lot of my personal and professional growth, let alone navigate the challenges in my life without the love and support of Becky by my side,” he wrote, adding that he’s “struggled with personal trauma and acute anxiety” compounded by “denial, pride and bad decisions.”
Explained the FC Dallas midfielder, “Over the last several weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot. Since this person did not get what they wanted, it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person I should never take for granted or put at risk. While this anonymous internet stalker — who I never met, unlike they claimed — had an ultimate goal that was not clear, for me, it has been a wake-up call. The loudest alarm of my life. I can’t keep running from demons. I know that any actions made that put us here should have never happened to begin with. Pushing right up to the very boundaries of lines that should never be crossed only hurts me and the people I love most.”
Continued the professional athlete, “This past week of chaos and pain has forced me to face the consequences of my actions, my fears and my lapses from the past.” He added that he planned to enter “a mental wellness program to work on the parts of me that deeply need healing.”
Sebastian concluded by addressing his fiancée directly, writing, “To Becky, you have been the light in my life, my strength, who has always shown me unconditional love. Instead of honoring that love every day, I have done the opposite, hurting you and disrespecting the one person I love more than anything. I am so sorry and know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love you deserve.”
Later that night, the former “Power Rangers” star posed on the red carpet at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards without Sebastian — or her massive engagement ring.
