Lucinda Strafford has revealed she felt the Love Island reunion was “awkward”, after the live episode received mixed reviews from fans.

The blonde beauty, 21, spilled as she chatted exclusively with OK! on the red carpet of the National Television Awards.

Love Island fans had a mixed reaction from fans as the cast of the latest series reunited for the first time in the studio, which is hosted by Laura Whitmore.

Speaking exclusively to OK! on the red carpet at the National Television Awards, Lucinda revealed: “I felt like it was very, very awkward.

“But, then again, I feel like reunions are awkward, that’s the nature of it, we hadn’t seen each other for a while.

"There's a lot things going on between different groups of people and I feel like it was bound to be awkward."

It comes after Laura hit back at criticism from viewers of the show, where fans also asked why Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank were not invited on the sofa for a chat.

Laura, 36, insisted that her job is “not to organise seating” in reaction. She wrote on her Instagram stories: “Shall I clarify a few other things? Hundreds of people work on Love Island. My job is not to organise seating arrangements. I barely know what seat I'm sitting in before the show as set changes so much.

“We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn’t want to and it’s her choice to make. Everything is run through with the Islanders before hand. It's all about choice!"

She also responded to criticism over her questions about Jack Grealish to Lillie Haynes, which caused the Casa Amor lass the cringe.

Lillie, 22, was left blushing when Laura quizzed her on rumours about her and the footballer, despite him having a longterm girlfriend, Sasha Attwood.

She asked: "I wanna know where you're at because I've spotted some pictures, yes I've seen them. Jack Grealish, what's going on?"

Lillie then shook her head and quickly buried her head in her hands before laughing. She then insisted: "Nothing! Nothing!"

Laura has since insisted: "I only ask questions that are pre approved by the compliance division. A lot of meetings happen before I see the script and then I can add my voice."

During the NTA's Lucinda was once again reunited with some of her former cast mates.

Millie Court and Liam Reardon, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares and Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran all looked loved-up as they strutted on the red carpet.

But, Lucinda revealed she is yet to find love herself.

When asked if she’s still single, Lucinda said: “Yes, I’m still single. Unfortunately I didn’t find love, me and Aaron wanted to see how things go but it went nowhere, but it’s OK there’s nothing wrong with being single.

“And obviously I did try with Brad as well but it didn’t work out.”
