Love Island star Jake Cornish may have been unlucky when it came to finding love in the villa – after he split from girlfriend Liberty Poole days before the final – but he's confident there is someone for him out there.
The 24 year old water engineer from Weston-Super-Mare opened up about his current dating life with OK!.
The star explained that he's not actually dating at the moment, but gets "a lot of DMs."
Jake explained: "I get a lot of DMs but I’m not dating.
"The other day I got a picture with someone and someone sent it to me and said, 'Oh my god there’s this picture of you with this girl, you’ve moved on quick,' and I’m thinking, 'Hang on I’ve just had a picture with a girl'."
The reality star added that it's hard to find romance in the public eye.
He said: "I’ll date who I want to date, but it does get to you when you’re constantly being filmed or having pictures taken on the sly. But I’m just focusing on myself and getting work in."
Jake's confession comes as he sensationally revealed the stars of this year's series no long speak – and their Whatsapp group is 'dead'.
Despite being inseparable in the Spanish villa over the summer, Jake has exclusively told new! that the gang have gone their separate ways and there's now 'no point' in staying in contact with them in the outside world.
"There’s a WhatsApp group but it’s dead. There is no point in being in it," he admitted.
"When we came out it was going off every day and now it’s gone downhil. You all go your separate ways."
However, Jake was quick to point out that he remains in touch with some of the boys – though the girls are another matter entirely.
"I’m in a WhatsApp group with Liam [Reardon] and Tyler [Cruickshank] and we talk every day, and I talk to Brad, Aaron [Simpson] and Danny [Bibby]," he explained.
"A couple of the girls I speak to very rarely on Instagram as I think everyone has gone their separate ways and there’s the girl code!"
Speaking to former TOWIE star Bobby Norris in his weekly column, Jake denied that the girls had blanked him, after he and show favourite Liberty Poole broke up, leaving the villa just before the series final.
When Bobby asked if it was true the girls, including Faye Winter, Kaz Kamwi and Millie Court, had ignored him after the show, Jake insisted, "It wasn’t a case of blanking me, I just haven’t spoken to them."
It's thought the girls were showing solidarity with Liberty after the pair's amicable break up, following accusations from viewers on social media that Jake had been 'gaslighting' Lib – who's set to appear in the new series of Dancing on Ice – throughout their journey.
But Jake has insisted that's not the case. "Ever since that came out, a few of the girls have messaged me and said, “Don’t feel that you’re alone, people are busy and I wanted to message you but things are still raw.”
