Katie Price has given a rare insight into her home life as the TV personality is set to release her new book about her bond with her eldest child Harvey Price. For the first time, the 43-year-old will be sharing the highs and lows of the mother and son relationship in the autobiography, Harvey and Me: A Mother’s Love by Katie Price.

As Harvey, 19, transitions into adulthood, Katie has opened up about the future in her new book.

The TV star will share with fans an insight into single-handedly raising her disabled son.

Harvey, who was born in 2002, was diagnosed with Septo-optic Dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder affecting his eyesight, as well as autism and Prader-Willi syndrome which can cause learning difficulties and behavioural problems.

He is unable to control his weight and requires 24-hour care.

Katie shared that the book will document their mother and son relationship.

With never-before-told stories and unseen photographs, the small-screen star opens up about the struggles she and Harvey have faced.

Speaking about her latest offering, Katie explained: “Life with Harvey has been a rollercoaster of emotions – from the day I held Harvey in my arms to this day I cannot begin to express the wonders of our incredible journey together.

“A mother-son bond that goes beyond the everyday ‘normal’.”

She added: “Harvey is a one in 100 million – I am blessed to have him in my life.”

When Katie first realised she was pregnant with Harvey, she was unaware of what the future had in store for them both.

“Sharing our story I hope to bring love, encouragement and support,” Katie explained.

“I want to educate parents and others, with a few good belly laughs, by giving an insight into what my world with Harvey is like behind closed doors.”

“I’ll take you away from showbiz thrills and spills and into my home, into my life as a parent with a child of complex needs and disabilities.”

Last year, the mum-of-five filmed a BBC One documentary, Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

The mum and son went in search of a specialist college which admittedly was a “new journey” for her.

“It’s not straightforward, where you can just choose a college,” Katie said to the BBC at the time.

“They have to have the right nursing team and know how to deal with his challenging behaviour.”

Her new book will detail Harvey’s condition, to his relationship with his siblings, to cruel online trolls, trauma but also joy and laughter.

Katie said: “Harvey has taught me to be a better person, mother and to fight for what is right, for those especially who have until now not had a voice to be heard.”

Harvey And Me: A Mother’s Love by Katie Price is published by Mirror Books.
