Kate Middletons nod to Prince Harry with £765 sheepskin jacket amid royal rift
Kate Middleton donned an old £765 sheepskin coat in what has been considered a nod toPrince Harry amid the fallout from his bookSpare.
The Princess of Wales, 41, wore the jacket in a new video to promote herShaping Us early years campaign, in which she chats to Capital FM radio hostRoman Kemp about how vital it is to give emotional support to young children.
In the video, Princess Kate and Roman also discuss the importance of mental well-being and relationships, detailing how nurturing children in the earliest years can build a society of healthy, happy adults.
And the princess recycled a special coat for the film that she has not been seen wearing since 2013 – her L.K. Bennett 'Darwin' Shearling Coat in chocolate brown, which is no longer available to buy.
One of the most special occasions Kate wore the coat was when she attended her first Christmas at Sandringham as a working royal in 2011.
The Princess was photographed wearing it when walking alongside her brother-in-law Prince Harry.
In the newly-released video, Kate spoke to Roman about how raising young children was “tough” but added: “Love goes a long way.”
Discussing her initiative, she added: "While raising the importance of early childhood, this isn't about putting extra pressure on families, it's actually saying they need the support and help reprioritising family life, home life and all that it takes in raising children today because it is tough.
"It's not about the number of toys they've got or the number of trips you go on with them," Kate said.
“It's just making sure they have the right emotional support around them that comes from the adults in their lives."
Roman then told Kate he had been lucky to be "very loved" in his life and that he was privileged – but that he would like to make it a normality for all children.
Kate answered: "Love goes a long way! It's very true."
The Princess of Wales’ Shaping Us camping aims toraise awareness about the importance of early childhood for later life.
She launched the initiative with aglitzy bash at Bafta HQ on Monday night, followed by atrip to Leeds on Tuesday.
The campaign has been launched as the Royal family continues to feel the fallout from Prince Harry’s book Spare.
The tell-all memoir brought anew round of attacks on the family, with criticism directed towardsPrince William andQueen Consort Camilla – as well asKing Charles and Princess Kate.
The Princess of Wales was said to bebaffled by the attacks against her in the book – including one claim thatKate and Meghan Markle had a disagreement over Charlotte's poorly fitting bridesmaid dress for Harry and Meghan's wedding.
The Shaping Us campaign also comes after the Duke of Sussex, now 38, once described his own childhood as a'cross between The Truman Show and a zoo'.
