KKW is here to stay. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in the midst of a divorce (at least, maybe they are—who even knows anymore, TBH?), but the reality star and serial entrepreneur will always be Kim Kardashian West, apparently.
The obvious convenience for branding continuity aside, Kim’s decision to keep her married name indefinitely is actually v relatable and reasonable—it’s all for her and Kanye’s four kids, North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
“Kim isn’t planning on dropping West from her last name,” a source told ET Online. “Kim and Kanye still think of themselves as a family unit and Kim wants her kids to feel and know that.”
Of course, that one fam, one name vibe might be a bit hampered by Kanye’s recent decision to change his name. Earlier this week, the rapper filed paperwork in Los Angeles to legally ditch his first, middle, and last names (Kanye Omari West) in favor of the one-word moniker, Ye.
Kanye has been just Ye at heart for a while now. He tweeted as much back in 2018, writing, “The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.”
