But then one has to wonder what the hell is Guyana anyway. There are no geographical descriptions of Guyana on any map prior to 1948, though it might be on the map since the area was known as the French West Indies before that. Then there is the issue of the whole black celebrity thing. First of all, the idea that celebrity might be a manifestation of some sort of Black power is a bit of a stretch. Even without the idea that Black celebrities have some sort of influence on the public, the idea itself is a stretch, considering that in real life, celebrities tend to be mostly White. Not all White, of course, but most certainly not all Black and, at most, a smattering of other races. It would certainly be a stretch to think celebrities could have some sort of magic power to make Black people more popular or better liked. S easy to see how such a power could be abused. S even more difficult to see how a black celebrity could actually have any sort of influence on the racial attitudes of Whites or of non-Whites who admire them. At the same time, there does exist a certain amount of Black power in the world. And sometimes the Black power is manifesting in our world through celebrities. However, Black power does occasionally manifest itself in the world of fashion and image.
