‘Gemmas mum will have something to say about Luca – trouble is coming, says Shaughna Phillips

Hi everyone, it’s Shaughna Phillips back with some more Love Island tea!

Since my last column, we saw the epic return of movie night – and I think it’s safe to say it didn’t disappoint. I for one found it so horrible to see Tasha Ghouri once again being picked apart by certain boys. I really wish one of the girls had stood up for her and told the boys to pipe down.

There were apologies from Luca Bish and Dami Hope, but for me, it’s too little too late. The best apology is changed behaviour, so let’s hope Tasha has it plain sailing from here on because she bloody deserves it! She and Andrew Le Page seem happy, so they should leave her alone.

After the beach club party, Billy Brown and Summer Botwe were dumped by their fellow Islanders following a public vote. I would rather have seen Billy and Dami go home, to be completely honest. Neither of them have shown themselves in the best of lights. I really wish more dumpings were chosen by the public because it is always so predictable when it’s the Islanders who get to decide.

Side note, how funny was it when Indiyah Pollack called Dami the wrong name twice?! I’m just gutted that it’s only happened twice. If it could become a reoccurring thing, that would be fabulous!

I’m glad Danica Taylor survived the dumping, though. I know she’s had quite a few chances now – possibly the understatement of the year?! – but she always puts herself out there and she’s definitely a great ass-et to the villa. Pun intended!

And as some Islanders left, we saw the arrival of four bombshells Jamie Allen, Reece Ford, Lacey Edwards and Nathalia Campos.

As soon as I saw the new bombshells, I said that Nathalia could be a problem for Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. And after seeing the preview of tonight’s episode, we might just see that happening! It’s definitely going to be interesting to see that unfold.

I think Davide Sanclimenti secretly loves the chaos that is Ekin-Su. I don’t know if he will be able to withstand pressure from the Brazilian bombshell, we will have to wait and see on that one. But Ekin-Su and Davide are definitely my winners, so I really hope they survive.

Jamie and Danica seem like a really good match. I really hope he is genuinely into her. It’s always a worry that a bombshell will go for who they believe is the safest bet, especially with such little time left in the villa, but they genuinely seem to have a connection, so fingers crossed.

I used to think that Danica had every chance of getting to the final, but as she was in the bottom two this week, I’m not so sure now. But I think she deserves to, and if she does get there, then I’m sure she’ll be taking Jamie with her.

Lacey seems to be getting along really well with Deji Adeniyi, too, and he definitely deserves someone. He is an unproblematic king and deserves to be treated accordingly!

I’m not sure if Reece has anyone he’s hugely interested in yet. I think I’ve heard him mention Ekin-Su’s name but that could be a dangerous game. I think she means it when she says she’s closed off to Davide.

Things move very quickly in the villa, and we saw Adam Collard and Paige Thorne make their romance exclusive!

Jacques O’Neill is probably so busy with life post Love Island that I doubt he’s given it a second thought. When you’re in the villa, it’s your entire world. Nothing else is happening and nothing else matters, but when you’re out, you quickly realise that there’s an entire world going on.

We’re getting closer to the final week, and it’s likely we’re going to see the baby challenge. If I’m honest, I find the baby challenge quite annoying. It’s always good to use the archive footage should the couple go on to have a real life baby – like Olivia and Alex Bowen for example. But aside from that, I’d be happy for them to swap the baby for a lie detector test!

Meet the Parents will also be happening soon, and I’m here for the mess if it brings it! I would love to see Tasha’s family come in and give certain boys a piece of their mind! Some of the boys really do need knocking down a peg or five, and who better to do that than a protective parent?!

I also saw that Gemma Owen’s mum made a comment on social media over the boys’ behaviour towards Tasha – and I am absolutely here for it. From the way Gemma carries herself in the villa, I think it’s clear that she really does respect what her family thinks, and I think it will be really telling to see how she reacts should her mum have something to say about Luca’s actions. There could be trouble for those two if so.

Michael Owen has already confirmed he won’t be coming in. To be honest, it seems like everyone in the villa is too young to truly appreciate who he is. So while I think us at home would love it, I think the kids in there will just think he’s another dad walking through the doors!

I am really hoping we see the return of the headline or Tweet challenge this year. There are some people in there that have had it way too easy, which I think has given them an air of untouchability and it needs to end pronto.

We all saw how Tasha was treated after she got upset about being in the bottom of the public vote three times. She was made to feel like her feelings weren’t valid, so let’s see how the rest of them fair when they see just what the public have been thinking about certain behaviour!

It’s been an incredible season. The producers, the cast, and the production have all been amazing and they’ve really outdone themselves, so I have my fingers crossed that they are going to go out with a bang. I want drama every night for the rest of the season, please!
