The league is appealing a federal court ruling that found the league and team owners jointly liable for a series of labor disputes in a unionized facility. A federal appeals court panel declined in 2014 to hear an appeal in favor of the league or team owners. The suit was filed by the National Football League Players Association. The case was consolidated with a similar case that had been pending at another NLRB regional office. The unions attorneys were represented by the New York law firm of Jones Day.
