Strictly Come Dancing 2021 contestant Greg Wise, 55, will perform with professional dancer Karen Hauer, 39, on the show this year. The actor has been happily married to Emma Thompson, 62, since 2003, while Karen is dating Jordan Jones Williams.

Due to the nature of the show, some participants have been hit by the so-called Strictly curse, a term used to describe the breakdown of a dancer or celebrity’s relationship during or after the show.

Sharing her thoughts about Greg dancing with Karen, she joked: “I am worried about the Strictly curse, very much so.

“I have put a packet of Durex into Greg’s good luck card. Just two.

“But you don’t know, do you? They haven’t got time for a lot of s******g, I hope, they’ll be so exhausted.”

She added of his Strictly partner to The Sun: “Karen’s gorgeous, she’s from Venezuela and is only 39.”

The actress added she wouldn’t be going to the show every week to watch him, but would be tuning in from home.

The couple share 21-year-old daughter Gaia, 21, and adopted son Tindy, 33, together.

She said of her dad’s Strictly stint: “He has a six-pack and will take his top off if he is needed to.”

Greg said he initially thought about turning down the show but decided to take it on, in honour of his late sister.

He spilled: “Almost exactly five years to the day my sister died will be the first day we do our routines on this and my sis was a real disco diva.

“She was the dancer in the family and she left this world in a glitterball coffin, and as this show is all glittery and diva-y and disco-y, I thought I had to do it for her.”

The Sense and Sensibility actor will showcase his moves on the dance floor next weekend.
