Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu isnt backing off from racy Dancing On Ice outfits after Ofcom complaints
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu divided viewers when she danced to Britney Spears’ Toxic on Dancing On Ice with professional partner Brendyn Hatfield in a skimpy leotard.
It didn’t go down well with some show watchers, with over 100 people filing complaints to Ofcom.
But now, Love Island star Ekin-Su, 28, has said she won't be toning it down as she says every woman should be able to "feel sexy" and embrace who they are.
"Every woman, it doesn’t matter who you are, what your age is or how you look, should feel sexy," she told the Daily Star.
"I think sexy gets taken differently. It’s not about cleavage, legs and bum. It’s about the knowledge you have, it’s about the way you carry yourself, the way you speak to people, it’s knowing who you are and embracing it."
She continued: "I’m not going to just back off anymore, I’m going to be confident again. I’m going to fight. I’m here, I’m ready. I’m going to shine and I’m going to be me again."
Ekin-Su previously addressed the criticism when she spoke to The Sun: "You know what? If you have ’em flaunt them.
“I mean if you’ve got a nice bum and you look sexy in a unitard, why not. Who cares?"
While the star divided viewers surrounding her outfit, one person who liked it was devoted beau Davide Sanclimenti, 27.
“How fit is your missus?” Holly Willoughby questioned the Love Island winner, to which Davide responded: “Looking forward to going home.”
His joke earned laughs from both the audience and Holly, who replied: “Yeah, I bet! We’ll make sure she keeps the outfit.”
Davide added: “She was wonderful, very beautiful, and I was proud of her seeing her dancing on the ice."
"That may have been the sexiest performance we've ever had on Dancing on Ice," Holly, 41, commented on Ekin-Su's routine.
Oti Mabuse, 32, also sang her praises by adding that the performance was "hot, hot, hot from the outfit to the hair to the makeup".
Last weekend, Ekin-Su transformed into The Sound of Music's Maria von Trapp on the ice by wearing a blonde wig and a cream-coloured blouse.
"Whoever you see in the performance, whether I'm playing Britney Spears or Maria from The Sound of Music, I will be that person," she told The Sun.
"This time I’ll be playing a character from The Sound of Music and I'll be how she is supposed to be. People forget I'm an actress. If I was asked to play Henry VIII on ice, I'd do it."
