Eamonn Holmes reveals secret KFC habit he hides from Ruth Langsford

Eamonn Holmes has let the cat out of the bag by revealing his cheeky practice of hiding his KFCs from wife Ruth Langsford.

She’s going to be onto you now, mate!

Having a good ol’ rant on the What’s Upset You Now? podcast, the This Morning presenter moaned about all kinds of things, including homework and throw cushions, when he admitted to the extreme lengths he goes to keep Ruth from learning he has enjoyed some tasty fried chicken.

He said: ‘If I get KFC, I’ve literally got to hide the evidence. I’ve got to bury the packaging in the back garden.’

Cut to Ruth currently excavating the backyard to unearth Eamonn’s cheeky takeaways.

The TV power couple – who are often seen presenting the ITV morning show – are well-known for their fiery relationship as they are often seen bickering on-screen but Eamonn admits that he doesn’t want to get into arguments about food.

Eamonn explained: ‘I can’t cook and I don’t cook. There are certain takeaways which are acceptable to Ruth and certain ones that aren’t.’

Revealing that when it comes to a good ol’ KFC sesh, he’s forced to lie to his wife to avoid any trouble.

He added: ‘[Ruth] will come in like a raptor and say: “I can smell something. What have you been eating?” and I go “I just had beans on toast”. That’s okay [but] if there’s a crumb…’

It comes as the former Sky News presenter has been at home in isolation as he battled Covid-19.

Ruth recently took to Instagram to give fans and followers a humorous update on his condition.

Sharing a short clip she captured during a dog walk, Ruth spotted a decorative skeleton sticking out of the ground next to a sign which read ‘Happy Halloween!’

Joking it was her beloved husband back out in the wild, she wrote: ‘Happy to say @eamonnholmes is out of isolation today! Just need to feed him up a bit to get his strength back! Thank you for all your good wishes xx.’

Eamonn was keeping his followers up to date on his recovery, responding to a concerned fan who wrote: ‘Hope you get well soon,’ he replied: ‘So do I Rob. Doing ok,’ along with a thumbs up emoji.

He had earlier revealed he was forced to cancel upcoming appearances after testing positive.

The star wrote on social media: ‘Covid finally caught me. Thankfully I’m Double jabbed. More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well.

‘Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies.’
