Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman, 49, has shut down a suggestion that the show is “sexually charged” following multiple romance that have happened during or after the show over the years. The so-called “curse’ term has been used oto describe relationship break-ups involving the contestants or professionals.

When asked if she thinks the BBC competition is a “sexually charged” show, she said: “Not at all.

“Any workplace has the odd romance but it doesn’t happen as much as you might think on Strictly.

“The atmosphere is non-competitive and supportive. The camaraderie between the celebs is a lovely thing.

“Strictly castmates continue to go on holiday together to this day,” she added to The Guardian.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood previously said he believes the so-called curse is actually a “blessing”.

Speaking to, he said he would “encourage” people to get together on the show.

He spilled: “If people are happy in their relationship, they very rarely go off with someone else.

“Is it wrong to fall in love? Is it wrong to find someone attractive?”

Despite some couples breaking up during or after their time on the show, it has also been responsible for bringing some together.

Rachel Riley began dating Pasha Kovalev following their Strictly stint in 2014.

The couple, who married in 2019, welcomed their first child together, Maven, in the same year.

They are currently expecting their second baby.
