Do you have any other unique names or baby name ideas. I do not write a lot about music on the site, especially in interviews. I dont even think about it until its too late. I like the fact that even if you read my thoughts about one of my favorite bands, youll still be able to learn something from them. So for the last few months, Im starting to think about ways of bringing music to life, from audio books to audiobooks. Im using the same medium to try and tell more about the history and music of one of my favorite bands, The Velvet Underground. My goal is, as always, to create an enjoyable audio experience. And to do that, I need music thats easy to listen to, and that captures the essence of the band. The first step was to reach out to the band and ask for a sample of the songs I wanted to use, and I got a pretty sweet response. The band is very gracious, and even had a little fun with me in the process. In one email, the bands manager was willing to go down to the studio to work with me. In another, I was encouraged to send the Velvet Underground to a friend at the RIAA in hopes he could help them reach an RIAA rating. The result of my efforts was a pair of music CDs with very unique cover artwork and a new CD of the song Dare, from the record which is now a staple of any Velvet Underground fans collection. Once the songs were complete, I sent them to the band for approval. While we were waiting for their comments, I started working on a playlist that would show the band and the songs from the record while it plays backwards. I had to take that music apart, put it back together, and reallocate it to fit in the present time. It was a very challenging process, and I was very happy with the end result. I also had to create a video to accompany the music. Its the kind of thing Ive used in the past to try and explain my own work. I think it was pretty satisfying once Id done both. When I started the project, I had no idea how challenging it would be. The first few hours were a bit rough, but then I turned on the volume low, listened to them for awhile, and they really started to make sense.
