You think about youYou sit in the conference room, alone. Everyone else is in the cafeteria, having lunch, with the exception of you and your boss. Your boss is on the phone with a reporter and hasnt looked up from the phone for the past few minutes. You dont think about all the people who dont have their faces covered; you think about those who do, and how beautiful they are. Youve been covering beauty pageants, and beauty pageants dont usually have the contestants take their crowns off until the end. You have no idea if this is supposed to be sexy or not, but you feel a little naked without your crown on and you know that it looks even more so without it. You dont see anyone else here, so you walk over and sit down on one of the chairs. You wonder where to introduce yourself, so you do it. You tell about your crownYou tell them your story. My name is Jess and Im the Pageant Manager, Ive been managing these pageants for a few years now and I havent had a problem with any of the pageants so far. Theyve all been pretty equal to the last, but this is the first one where I didnt even know who won. I mean some lady won by default, everyone knows that, but that can change at the last minute, it is a beauty pageant after all.
