Washingtons two losses to Golden State have come via a buzzer-beating three by Stephen Curry in the second quarter of a December game in Oakland, and a triple by Klay Thompson to end the game in Golden State on December 8. Despite those disappointing losses, Washingtons two losses this season to the Warriors come on the road, though the Wizards home record against Golden State is only 2-4. And even though the Warriors have beaten Washington on the road, its been by an average of 17 points. The Wizards are tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-14, but Washington is tied with the Raptors for the fifth-worst point differential, minus-27, in the conference. The Wizards will look to break through and prove that they belong in the playoffs when they face the Warriors Friday night at Verizon Center. The Wizards are also in a playoff position because, despite their lack of success against the Warriors this season, they have been one of top-three in the league in points allowed. 1 percent from the field, compared to Golden States 46. Washingtons poor defensive showing on Thursday was not the only reason the Wizards lost, but it was a major reason why they werent able to overcome Golden States big win. The Wizards blew a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, and that is when Curry, in his usual fashion, found a way to beat them.
