A year after a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, gun violence in the United States has gotten worse. The total number of gun homicides in the United States increased by 27. These findings come from data released in a report today from the Violence Policy Center, a gun violence prevention research organization. Dear reportedly said, no more baby parts, in a recorded 911 call. The report finds that mass shootings in other countries have generally had some common themes. In mass shootings in Australia, Britain, and France, two or more assailants entered the locations and killed a high number of people, while in the United States, it tends to be only one perpetrator, it says. In the United States, the VPC noted, mass shootings occur at a lower frequency, but they are not uncommon. During the last half century, there have been approximately 1,800 mass shootings in public places, which would include schools, churches, entertainment venues and other public places. It is difficult to determine the full number, since these incidents go unreported and no firm definition for the term mass killing exists, the report said. Has not done a good enough job in defining mass shootings since the federal government does not collect data on the incidents or provide regular data on the incidents.
