Strictly: Amanda Abbington ‘over the moon’ with her partner
During their 16-year relationship, Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman were rarely seen with their two children, Joe, 17, and Grace, 15, as they attempted to “manage” how much of their private life became public.
Now the kids are older, they do make appearances with their famous parents, with Amanda explaining that they reached an age where they “wanted to”.
Opening up about navigating life in the spotlight, the Sherlock star told Radio Times: “I think you can choose to manage it, I do. I think you can kind of manage how much you want to give away.

The 51-year-old noted that signing up to Strictly Come Dancing “catapults you” into a new level of stardom.
She concluded: “It’s such a huge show that I kind of understand. You can hide away or you can give yourself over, it’s up to you!”
Amanda and Martin started dating after meeting on the set of Men Only in 2000. They also went on to co-star in The Robinsons (2005) and Sherlock (2010).
The pair never got married but stayed together for 16 years.

The Office star confirmed their split in a 2016 interview with Financial Times. He said: “I’m not with Amanda anymore. It’s very, very amicable – I’ll always love Amanda.”
A day later, Amanda said “there was no hostility” contributing to their split, rather that they simply “couldn’t live together anymore”.
She told The Telegraph: “Martin and I remain best friends and love each other, and it was entirely amicable.
“There was no hostility, really, we just said that we couldn’t live together anymore, so we put everything in place, he moved out to a flat in north London, I stayed at home and we’ve started a new chapter.”
