A voice, presumably that of the masked ISIS fighter, read:Dear brothers in the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham,As you are probably aware, the battle for Mosul has been decided. The battle of Europe has also been decided, and our emir, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, has declared that the time for it to be waged is right now. Its not yet clear who made the video, but the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS, has issued a message similar to it before, and in the past, warning of Europes impending doom. Its also unclear whether this video came from ISIS militants in Syria or in Iraq, although there have been rumors that ISIS fighters in Libya have been communicating with those in Syria. The video was apparently posted in a bid to attract recruits, and it could, in fact, prove to be a desperate move by ISIS. It is still unclear if ISIS is preparing to launch a terrorist attack on Europe, and many questions still remain about how the group is planning to carry out such an operation. After news broke earlier this week that ISIS militants in Egypt were planning a terrorist attack on the United States, that may have put pressure on ISIS to do something. But the group may also hope that the video will raise fears in Europe that they should be prepared for such an eventuality, and will try to capitalize on their fear by recruiting more members in the coming days.
