Now you just told me about the internet. Why cant we just get back to the original question. You dont want to go on this dateYou dont want to go on this date. You dont want to waste time on someone who will do a boring activity and then complain about it later. In the aftermath of the tragic events in Paris, Americans are being asked to rise above politics and come together as one. What an odd phrase to choose for a moment of national mourning. Surely the people who died last Friday will be remembered as an example of our greatness. That they will also be an example of the darkness that exists in the heart of some. In a way, I think we have to see them that way. This is not about whether we like an individual or whether we agree with their politics, it is not about whether or not one agrees with the actions or intentions of the terrorists, it is not about whether or not the country is at peace, it is not about a presidential administration. We are at war, and there is no time to mourn. But we are also living in a time of peace, and I would argue this is precisely why we dont want to mourn the dead. We begin to lose sight of the fundamental truths that always have governed our lives. We are not at war with the Muslim world or the Arab world or the Muslim faith. We are not at war with Muslims in general, Islam in general, or the Arab world in general. I have not been paying full attention to the horror in Paris for various reasons, and when I saw the image of the dead and wounded lying on the sidewalk, I knew immediately that we were at war with ISIS. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack and said they believe we did it. I dont know if that is true, but ISIS is claiming the point. They are giving a statement of war which is enough for me. They claim that they do not hate our free world and that they want to live in.
