I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson reacts to Nigel Farage’s £1.5m payday and admits he would have taken part in the show for FREE (even with the stomach-churning eating trials!)
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson has revealed he was so desperate to live out his boyhood dream on the show, that he was willing to sign up for free.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, was crowned King Of The Jungle in Sunday’s final, and has now admitted he would have been a ‘very, very easy negotiation’ as he would have done ‘anything’ to be a part of the show.
Speaking to The Times after flying back to the UK from Australia, Sam also struggled to hide his surprise when he learned campmate Nigel Farage was paid £1.5 million to take part in the show.
The GB News host’s signing was controversial to many viewers, and he went onto finish in third place.
Discussing his dream to take part in the show, Sam said: ‘Mate, I would have done it for anything! I would have been a very, very easy negotiation. I would have paid them to be on it.

‘It wasn’t monetary, or a career move, I genuinely wanted to go and eat camel’s penis. I wanted to meet Ant [McPartlin] and Dec [Donnelly], they’re my heroes, the most iconic people of my life.’
Sam added that he ‘never had a down day’ during his time in the jungle, though he did fear that he was ‘annoying’ to other members of the camp with his ‘high energy.’
After learning of Nigel’s vast show fee, Sam struggled to hide his surprise, saying: ‘Was he? Bloody hell! I didn’t have a clue. You could buy five houses for that!’
He added that he did ‘recognise’ Nigel when he first entered the jungle, but he still saw him as ‘a really fascinating guy.’
Admitting he felt like ‘a competition winner’ on the show, Sam confessed he had ‘massive impostor syndrome’ in the jungle.’
Radio presenter, Sam was crowned the winner on Sunday night’s final , beating Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage , where he came out with over 50 per cent of the votes.
Zara McDermott greeted her boyfriend Sam at the airport with a bundle of balloons as they shared a warm embrace after being apart for the last few weeks.
Sam was joined on his flight by best pal Pete Wicks who had flown out to greet him in the jungle while Zara remained at the couple’s home in London.

She had previously explained to fans of the show that she wouldn’t be in Australia due to her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
‘Pete is going. We’ve had a few laughs and jokes about this,’ she explained in an Instagram post.
‘But in all seriousness; Sam thought I was still going to be in Strictly (bless him, the optimism), so Pete cleared his whole diary for 2/3 weeks to be there.’
The clip comes after Zara recently revealed the reason that she and her boyfriend Sam Thompson didn’t fall victim to the famous ‘Strictly curse.’
The Love Island star competed on the BBC show earlier this year with professional partner Graziano Di Prima, but they were sadly eliminated during Halloween Week.
Speaking on the Saving Grace podcast, Zara admitted she ‘couldn’t understand’ how so many couples were hit by the famous curse, and she was just ‘really good friends’ with Graziano.
She said: ‘It’s really weird. The Strictly curse is a thing that people talk about that I physically can’t understand.
