Kim Kardashians Skims is now the official underwear of the NBA & WNBA
When did you realize that Kim Kardashian’s Skims was going to be her biggest-ever business? I realized in 2021, when Kim scored a deal to supply Skims underwear and sleepwear for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics. Like, that’s a huge f–king deal, that Skims got the approval of the US Olympic Committee to be one of brands giving gifts to the Olympians. Skims was recently valued at $4 billion, and while Kim doesn’t own 100% of Skims, she has a controlling interest and she eventually plans to take the company public. Now for some more good news for Kim: Skims is now the official underwear of the NBA and WNBA.
The NBA revealed a multiyear partnership with Kim Kardashian‘s viral underwear brand Skims on Monday. The company was named the official underwear partner of the NBA, WNBA and USA Basketball, paving the way for collaborative products and branding at events such as the NBA and WNBA All-Star games.
“I am incredibly proud of Skims’ partnership with the NBA, as it is a reflection of Skims growing influence on culture,” Kardashian said in a statement. “Together, Skims and the NBA will connect people of all backgrounds through fashion, sport and talent, and I look forward to seeing the partnership thrive.”
Kardashian, Skims cofounder Jens Grede and NBA commissioner Adam Silver held the press announcement in Brooklyn Heights on a mockup of a peachy nude-colored Skims basketball court, with the iconic Brooklyn Bridge behind them.
“Skims has quickly become one of our most culturally influential brands,” Silver added. “We look forward to bringing NBA fans and Skims users unique experiences, new offerings and premium products through our partnership.”

Kim has literally built all of this in FOUR YEARS. Sure, it wasn’t her first rodeo and she had years of business deals, clothing lines, failed launches and successful launches before Skims. But Skims was the first real “billion-dollar idea” and what she’s done with it has been remarkable. It’s crazy that she’s now partnering with all of professional basketball.
