Strictlys Shirley Ballas more nervous after Holly Willoughby kidnap plot
Shirley Ballas reflecting on being considered a ‘harsh’ judge
Shirley Ballas has said the allegations surrounding Holly Willoughby being at the centre of a kidnapping plot has made her nervous.
Holly is now on indefinite leave from the ITV show This Morning and reportedly under around the clock police protection.
Following the news, Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge Shirley, 63, said she has been taking extra precautions.
She told the Daily Star: “The news about Holly has made me a little bit nervous.
“Let’s just say, I travel everywhere with caution. I’m not free as a bird like I used to be.

“I’m always a little bit cautious about where I’m going, especially if I’m out on my own.
“I would be wrong to say, ‘I don’t worry about it’. Of course you do.
“These are the times that we live in and I think it’s very sad.”
She went on to send her love to Holly and her family, branding it an “awful experience”.
According to the publication, Shirley’s dancer son Mark has himself been a target of a kidnapping plot while in the US version of Strictly.

Separately, the panellist is a regular target of online abuse, particularly over her decision making in the show.
As head judge, it’s down to Shirley to choose which contestant goes home if her fellow judges can’t make a majority decision.
Such decisions have sparked many to hit out at her on social media, even leading to death threats.
Speaking on Olivia Attwood vs The Trolls documentary last month, she said: “I’ve had people draw coffins with me in it with somebody with a spade that said, ‘Die you b***h’.
The abuse, she admits, had made her consider leaving the show she joined in 2017.
She added: “It’s when it is personal about myself and my family and it affects my mental health. I am not just talking about your phone.
“I am talking about being in public. You worry about those same strange people that write these kinds of messages.
“Are they lurking in dark corners? Are they hiding behind walls when you go somewhere?”
Shirley added along with the negative comments however, there were several more positive ones that she was grateful for.
