Love Islands Jess Harding seen for first time since split from Sammy as she lands home from Ibiza

Love Island winner Jess Harding has been seen for the first time in public since her split from boyfriend Sammy Root, who she won the ITV2 dating show with two months ago.

Jess, 23, cut a casual figure as she arrived in Manchester on Thursday with fellow Islander Ella Barnes, 22, as the pair headed to an event together. She went make-up free as she sported grey leggings and a white cropped jumper, with a headband pushing her blonde locks out of her face.

The beauty salon owner headed straight to Manchester after jetting home from a wild holiday to Ibiza, which she documented on social media.

After arriving back in the UK, Jess took part in a Q&A session with her fans on Instagram and opened up about her split from Sammy, 22, revealing she didn't want to "go into detail" about their break up.

"I really don't want to go into detail by doing a big statement but we're just very different and behave differently and that's it," she said in response to a fan asking the reason behind their split.

Sammy and Jess met in the Love Island villa and after a rocky few weeks they ended up falling for one another and were eventually crowned the winners of the 2023 series. However, it was recently reported that they'd parted ways and Sammy then confirmed their split on social media.

A source close to the exes originally told MailOnline: "Jess and Sammy have called it quits. Things have changed since leaving the villa and Jess has realised they're better off as friends."

Sammy then took to social media to share what had been going on. He wrote: "Hi guys, I thought I would come online to address today's news about me and Jess. Yes we had a private conversation regarding our relationship but this was left up in the air as Jess is still away and we haven't had a chance to speak in person. For me to then see today via the media that we had officially broken up came as a total shock.

"To be totally clear – I at least wanted a face to face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be the respectful way forward," he pointed out.

He finished his statement by adding: "We had the most incredible experience winning Love Island and I genuinely saw a future with Jess. I was committed and respectful to our relationship. Unfortunately things don't always work out the way you'd hoped. Despite how this has all played out today. I think Jess is an amazing woman and genuinely wish her all the best."
