Rylan says NHS ‘on it’s knees’ as he makes desperate plea after mums surgery
Rylan Clark teases mum with favourite treats
Rylan Clark took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday with an urgent plea for help after finding himself “at a loose end” trying to get his mum, Linda, the medical attention she needs.
Linda, 71, needed to be rushed into surgery after breaking her arm and leg after a nasty fall on holiday.
The Celebrity Gogglebox star’s injuries were even more concerning as she has other health issues, including Crohn’s disease.
After returning to the UK via a private jet, Rylan, 34, is now struggling to find a hospital that will remove her staples, take her casts off and provide physiotherapy.
The former Strictly It Takes Two presenter wrote: “My mum has been home four days, tried to book her in private (because luckily I can afford that) for her arm and leg, won’t take her because surgery wasn’t done by them.

“Since Friday have been waiting for the NHS hospital to come back to me, have been number 76 in the queue since this morning finally get through to be told they haven’t received her referral (which they have) my mum is 71 and has other serious health issues.
“I know the NHS is on its knees at the minute but what on earth would she do without family around her.
“I’ve now been told there’s nothing else the GP surgery can do (who have been great) so here with my mum in two casts, she needs her stitches and staples removed this week, and then her physio can begin.

“At a loose end here, any advice from doctors/nurses on here would be great.”
Rylan then asked if any of his 1.7 million followers knew of any private hospitals that could take Linda as an outpatient, adding that he’d rather go private because “it’s one less patient the already exhausted NHS won’t have to worry about”.
Thankfully, in an update shared later in the day, the Celebrity Big Brother winner confirmed that a private company has accepted Linda and will see her this week.
